The mission of the Music Ministry is to minister to the Batavia United Methodist Church congregation, using music to praise God, raise up each other, and amplify the Word through our presence, our gifts, and our service in worship.
We offer opportunities for musical expression and service across all age groups, interests, and aptitudes. We encourage all who are interested to contact our Director of Music, contact Eric D. Carlson for more information.
Youth & Adults
All these ensembles are open to adults, middle school students, & high school students.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is an integral part of the congregation’s worship experience. If you enjoy singing, you are invited to join the choir! We sing several different styles of music to amplify our worship experience. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
Handbell Choir
Our Handbell Choir offers people of all ages and various musical experience an opportunity to have fun while providing the congregation with beautiful inspirational music. The handbell choir participates in worship throughout the church year on specific days that are scheduled . Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. in the Music Room.
BUMC Praise (Christian Contemporary)
We are always looking for vocalists and instrumentalists to join. Rehearsals are on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. If you are interested, please contact Eric D. Carlson.

Eric D. Carlson has been with Batavia United Methodist Church since 2019, having served churches throughout the region for many years. An accomplished collaborative pianist, vocalist, and voice coach, Eric leads the music program with energy and ingenuity.
