To Our Church Community,
Given the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in Kane County, Batavia United Methodist Church has chosen to adopt the CDC and State recommendations to resume wearing masks in all indoor settings effective today, August 12th. This adopted policy will include masks required regardless of vaccination status – this is due to recent studies by the CDC that state even those who are fully vaccinated can carry a high viral load of COVID-19 and are still likely to spread the virus while experiencing no symptoms themselves. This decision was made partially due to the fact that children who are not yet eligible for the vaccine have been seen to be more vulnerable to this variant.
We will continue with in-person worship; however during all worship services we will refrain from congregational singing to minimize the spread of infectious aerosols.
Church office hours and worship service times remain the same.
We appreciate your patience and willingness to help us love our neighbors – especially those who are most vulnerable.
